The 45-year-old star believes that it is important for her
and her ex-husband Taye Diggs to prioritise their son despite their split which occured in 2014, reported FemaleFirst.
"Your child comes first, that's all. It's all about that. He comes first and you have to get past your own egos and you never talk bad about each other," she said.
Menzel said she wants to keep her child away from the outside world and does not know when she can tell him about how things work out here.
"You want to keep him insulated and safe and not ruin his perspective of the world," she said.
