All small in size, these UAVs - Flapping Wing, Fixed Wing and Visually Guided Autonomous Quadrotor - have been made using technology developed in the country, Aerospace Department head Prof. A K Ghosh said.
Flapping Wing UAV weighs around 500-1000 grams and can be useful for surveillance and traffic management, he said.
The Fixed Wing UAV weighs around 20 kg and it has to be equipped with modern facilities and more work has to be done, Ghosh said.
According to Prof. Ghosh, these UAVs can be useful for several works like surveillance, security and flood control.
The financial assistance for the project was given by Poonam Prabhu Goyal Foundation and the work for the project had been going on since 2014, he added.
