Officials said the new alumni email services have been introduced for fostering close relationship and maintaining communication among the alumni and also with the institute.
An alumnus can visit https://iitkgp.Org/alumni-email and fill up the form. The information will be cross-checked by the institute and on satisfactory verification, an email id will be issued to the alumnus.
The service was launched recently on the occasion of 66th foundation day of the institute. Such services though common in top global institutions is comparatively new in India.
