'Improvement in ease of doing business will bring more funds'

Further improvement in the ease of doing business would bring more American investment to India, US Consul General in Mumbai Thomas Vajda said here today.
Observing that many American companies including General Motors, General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Honeywell already 'Make In India', he said that American companies are optimistic that reforms in this regard would continue.
The Consul General was speaking to the Governor of Maharashtra C Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, an official release said. It was a courtesy call, the release said.
The Consul General expressed happiness that there has been follow up from the United States and India on various issues of agreements entered by the two countries during the visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States and the visit by President Obama to India.
Vajda informed the Governor about the scheduled visits to India by Treasury Secretary, Transport Secretary and other cabinet level officials from the United States.
Mentioning that more than one lakh Indian students study in the United States, he remarked that Indians are favourably disposed towards America.
Welcoming the Consul General, Rao said relations between India and the United States have further strengthened after visits by India's Prime Minister to the United States and the reciprocal visit by the American President to India.
The Governor said as Chancellor of Universities in Maharashtra, he would welcome cooperation between the universities in Maharashtra and US-based universities.
Maharashtra would welcome co-operation in areas such as waste management, solar power generation, student-exchange and skill development, Rao said.
