Incessant rains pose flood threat in parts of Arunachal

Incessant rains for the past few days have posed flood threat in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh with Dibang Valley district remaining cut off from the rest of the country for the past five days.
Following diversion of the course of rain-fed Deopani river and couple of block points created by landslides in between Anini and Roing, the district remained cut off from the rest of the country since May 9 last, an official report said here today.
The incessant rainfall being experienced for over a week in the area has affected movement of people and transportation of essential goods to the district, the report said.

An official report from Changlang district said that following incessant rain the Noadehing and the Buridehing rivers were in high spate threatening to inundate the low-lying areas at Bordumsa.
On May 9 last, the Noa Dehing flooded its right bank near Dumpani village under Diyun circle partially submerging 17 houses.
Situation on its left bank at Bijoypur village was also critical and if the rainfall continued for some more days flood could not be ruled out, the report said.
