Incidents of attack on Dalits are like a 'blot': Paswan

Expressing concern over the attack on Dalits in Gujarat, BJP ally and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan today termed the incident as a "blot" and met Union Home minister Rajnath Singh over the issue.
Paswan, who along with his MP son Chirag Paswan led the party delegation, also accused the Opposition parties of using the shoulders of Dalits to fire their guns on BJP for political reasons.
"We have expressed our concern. Incidents like these are a blot," he said after meeting Singh.
The LJP chief, however, expressed satisfaction over the government's response to the incident, in which some Dalits were attacked for skinning a dead cow.

"We all should come together to think as to how such incidents can be stopped," he said, adding that the Opposition's demand for a sending a joint parliamentary committee to the spot to look into the matter will only delay the justice as the state government has acted swiftly.
