The ruling Naga People's Front (NPF) today appealed to the Centre and NSCN(IM) to work out a formula to include all the Naga political groups so that any solution may be acceptable to all sections of the Naga people.
The appeal was made as part of the first Central Executive Council (CEC) meet of NPF held after merger of 8 Congress MLAs and one each from JD(U) and NCP into its fold at its Central Headquarter here.
Reiterating the commitment of the party to work for finding an honourable and acceptable solution to Indo-Naga political problem, the NPF CEC also welcomed the framework agreement signed between the NSCN(IM) and Union government at New Delhi on August 3 last.
The NPF CEC resolved to extend its support to the hill people of Manipur in protest against the three tribal peoples' bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last year relating with the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Manipur state.
Expressing support and solidarity with those MLAs, particularly NPF MLAs of Manipur who resigned from their seats in protest against the three bills, the NPF CEC also appealed to the President not to give his ascent against the bills terming these as anti-hill people.
The NPF CEC also welcomed the Congress, JDU and NCP MLAs along with their supporters, who recently merged with NPF hoping that their merger will strengthen the party government to work effectively towards realising the Naga political aspiration.
Further, the House pledged to work for reconciliation and unity within the party and reiterated the resolution to pledge faith and confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister T R Zeliang and Party President Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu.
The CEC therefore declared that whoever acted by way of pronouncing or by action against the above resolution will be deemed to have acted against the party commitment and party discipline and hence invite disciplinary action.
