Include middle-class families in PDS, Mohindru urges Modi

Expressing concern over rise in prices of pulses, Punjab BJP senior leader Rajat Kumar Mohindru today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct state governments to include middle-class people in the public distribution system.
"Instruct all state governments to extend the facilities provided under the PDS to middle-class families," the former Convener of Punjab BJP's media cell, wrote in an email.
The sky-rocketing prices of pulses and other necessary items is affecting the common people and middle-class families the most. That is why it has become important that they should also get the benefits of PDS, Mohindru said.
Pulses should also be provided through the PDS at affordable price and besides the poor people, common man should be included in it, Mohindru said.
