The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), along with Delhi Police and other central security forces and agencies, have tightened their vigil for these two public facilities with additional manpower having been put on duty.
"There is no specific alert, but the security agencies have stepped up the vigil keeping in mind the Independence Day celebrations and other events in the national capital. There is no need for panic," a senior security official said.
Both the air-side and city-side deployment of the force has been beefed up at IGIA.
Surprise security checks and profiling of passengers and commuters have also been intensified to check for possible trouble-makers, the official said.
The agencies have also deployed additional teams in civil clothes which will monitor the crowds by mingling with them, they said.
