"Importers from countries like Vietnam, Serbia, Hungary, Zimbabwe registered their presence for the first time in expo and thus opens new avenues for establishing business relations with these countries," said Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) Chairman Kuldeep R Wattal said.
First-time buyers, he said, were given 50 per cent subsidy.
"Our purpose of promoting small and medium exporters stands fulfilled as they generated good business," he added.
The Expo was held here between March 27-30.
The next edition of the Expo will be held in Varanasi in October 2015 and will also showcase the training provided to the Varanasi belt under the Ministry of Textiles.
