New Zealand added 28 runs to their overnight total to finish at 239 for eight against India in the weather-hit first World Cup semifinal, here Wednesday.

New Zealand were 211 for five in 46.1 overs on Tuesday when rain halted play and dragged the action to the reserve day.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets in the penultimate over to finish with a three-wicket haul.
