India will provide Rs 20 million as aid to Nepal for building a new school, creating better facilities for over 400 students.
A Memorandum of Understanding was today signed in this regard between the Indian Embassy, the District Development Committee of Makwanpur and Shri Mahalaxmi Secondary School at Bhimphedi village.
The project will be managed under the Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme and will help in creating better facilities for over 400 students, the Indian Embassy said in a statement.
The 54-year-old infrastructure of the school was dilapidated and inadequate to meet growing requirements of students and faculty members. The new building will create a better environment for learning, it said.
Three other projects in Makwanpur have already been completed with Indian assistance of Rs 39.8 million.
Construction of a building for Shri Janakalyan Higher Secondary School in Daman village is underway at a cost of Rs 42.21 million.
