India Post launches inward remittance

India Post has launched international money remittance service on the International Financial System (IFS) platform of Universal Post Union (UPU).
At present the service is available from France and the UAE.
India Post in a statement said the service will very soon be extended to Ukraine, Laos PDR, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and other countries.
The IFS is paid through eMoney Order service and amount of up to Rs 50,000 can be paid by cash from post office counters and exceeding that the amount, the amount can be paid through cheques.
