India Rubber Meet 2016 to be held in Goa on March 10-11

The Rubber Board and stakeholder associations in rubber and related sectors would jointly organise India Rubber Meet 2016 (IRM 2016), the third edition in the series, in Goa on March 10-11, an official said today.
"The meet will have representation of stakeholder associations from all segments of the rubber industry, the media and the Rubber Board. IRM is a regular forum for interaction, networking and exchange of information," Sathees Chandran Nair, Deputy Director (Publicity and Public Relations), Rubber Board told PTI.
The theme of the conference would be 'Rubber Scenario: What Lies Ahead', he said.
"The discussions in IRM 2016 will focus on topics related to the rubber scenario, and its present trends and new dimensions. The Meet will be a forum to evolve new strategies to confront the present challenges of the rubber industry," Nair said.
"There will be invited talks by internationally renowned speakers on topics such as economic outlook, technology and innovation, regulations and legislations, sustainability and market/rubber industry outlook. There will also be panel discussions involving experts and key stakeholders from different segments of the rubber industry," he said.
A national-level organising committee under the chairmanship of A Jayathilak, Chairman, Rubber Board, with representation of all segments of the rubber industry, has been constituted to formulate and organize the event, Nair said.
The committee includes representatives of small and large rubber growers, rubber processors and traders, tyre and non-tyre sectors, auto component manufacturers, rubber product exporters, synthetic rubber and reclaimed rubber manufacturers, rubber research and skill development institutions, etc, he said.
IRM 2016 is targeted to attract around 600 delegates from India and abroad, he said.
