The games, which involve 6,700 international competitors from 67 countries, include sports ranging from wrist wrestling to the toughest competitor alive contest.
The 39-memeber Indian contingent consists of 24 men and 15 women athletes who are particpating athletics, archery, boxing, judo, swimming and wrestling events.
The first Indian medal was won by Sub Inspector Nandar Anand Divase of BSF, who finished first in the men's 400m free style swimming by clocking 4:12.21s.
He followed it up with another gold by finishing first in the men's 200m individual medley.
Rajvir then bagged a silver medal in the men's 50m butterfly event.
The Indian team also made a mark in athletics with long-distance runner Anuradha Singh winning a gold in the women's 5,000m race.
Tajinder of Punjab Police then bagged a silver medal in the men's hammer throw event.
The World Police and Fire Games are the third-largest international multi-sport event in the world and are being held in the European continent for the first time.
