In a letter e-mailed to the media here, General Secretary Prabandhak Committee of Takhat Patna Sahib Charnjit Singh said the Jathedar (head priest) has been dismissed with immediate effect.
Iqbal Singh, who was here to attend a routine meeting in Akal Takhat, however, denied having any information about his dismissal.
He claimed he was still serving as Jathedar of Takhat Patna Sahib, the birth place of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru.
