A 16-year-old Indian boy in Sharjah allegedly committed suicide as he was upset about his poor performance in a CBSE examination, a media report said today.
The boy, identified only as A S, was reportedly depressed after performing badly in the examination a few days ago.
The body of the boy, a grade 11 student of an Indian school here, was found hanging from the terrace of his apartment on Sunday afternoon, a few hours after he had left home on the pretext of going to school to sit for the second exam.
His parents, hailing from Kerala, were unaware their son was missing till the school informed them that he did not turn up for the exam, the Khaleej Times reported.
Alarmed about the whereabouts of their son they, then, filed a complaint with the Sharjah Police.
The police found him after a tenant of the adjacent building informed them that a body was hanging from the terrace of the building on which the family lived.
His parents told the police that their son was upset as he did not do well in his exam, the report said quoting a source.
The source added that the police did not find any criminal motive in the case and considered it a case of suicide.
