Ambassador of India to Nepal Ranjit Rae today visited the border districts of the countries overseeing the implementation of the developmental projects accorded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Ambassador, who is on a week long visit to border districts of India and Nepal at western part of Nepal, hailed the '5,600 MW Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project', that was stalled before due to the disagreement between the two nations.
"The understanding between the two countries has developed up to a level that the benefits of the project will be distributed on equality basis and a detailed survey of the submerged villages at both sides will be done before rehabilitating them," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inked three agreements with Nepal during his visit to the country last year, including one on the 5,600 MW Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project that is expected to pave way to start the stalled project.
The ambassador noted that his visit is aimed at understanding the problems of the border areas of India and Nepal.
He said that two motor bridges and suspension bridges on river Mahakali will be constructed by the countries at this part of the border to ease transportation.
"The motor bridges are proposed at Jhoolaghat and Dharchula while suspension bridges will come up at Jauljibi ad Lali villages at the border," he said.
