The 54-year-old "Shadows in Paradise" actress was amused by the length of opening and closing credits in India.
"The credits are much, much longer here and that must mean that the crew is bigger. So I think the making of films is bigger here than in Finland, be it the scale or the volume of making it," Kati told PTI.
The "Match Factory" actress is head of the India Gold jury at the 17th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
Kati says she is impressed with many young filmmakers in India who are trying out new subjects and genres.
"In Finland it's very hard for young filmmakers to make a film. In the competition, 8 out of 13 were debut films, or second films. I was happy about that. It's always nice to see what the next generation is thinking about life, politics and philosophy. It's fresh."
"Be courageous and sensitive and true to your own ideas and not much what other people are saying. When it comes to how to tell a story, be economical and take the heart of the story forward," she said.
