The victim, identified by his friends as Siby, was found dead in his room in Bahla town of Ad Dakhiliyah governorate on Monday, The Times Of Oman reported.
Siby, a Keralite, was running an automobile spare parts shop in the gulf country.
"He left the shop at around 1 pm and went to his room for lunch. He was supposed to return by 3 pm, but when he didn't turn up and did not answer his phone his sponsor went to the accommodation at around 4 pm to look for him.
