Undoubtedly, the star attraction was Beijing Olympics bronze medallist Vijender Singh, a former Railways employee, who requested the top brass to allow Railways boxers like Manoj Kumar to take part in Pro Boxing.
"I was a TT stationed at Jaipur when I was employed with North Western Railways. I got my first CWG medal as Railways employee," said Vijender.
RSPB secretary general Rekha Yadav said that decks have been cleared and permission for Pro Boxing will not be a hurdle.
Rio Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik was also felicitated at the function along with members of Junior World Cup winning hockey team member Manjeet, kabaddi player Manjit Chillar and shooter Ayonika Paul to name a few.
