Emaan Shah, who was last caught on CCTV shopping with her mother on Oxford Street in central London on June 10, was found safe in Northern Perthshire, Scotland.
The reason behind her mysterious disappearance remains unclear at the moment.
"Investigating officers from the Metropolitan Police Service are currently liaising with police in Scotland. We thank media for assistance with appeals," a Scotland Yard statement said.
Shah was due to leave the UK with her parents on the evening of June 10 at the end of the family holiday.
"The disappearance is out of character and officers are keen to trace her as soon as possible," Met police had said in its appeal issued soon after she went missing.
The Shah family was staying at the Marriott Hotel in Marble Arch, near Oxford Street, and rushed to look for her there but there was no sign of Emaan at the hotel either.
She was carrying some cash with her but did not have a mobile phone with her.
"I was just a few paces ahead of my wife and daughter in Oxford Street and when I turned round she'd gone. We are at a point where we cannot eat, we cannot sleep. We are desperate for news about Emaan and just want her back with us.
"There is no reason why she should go missing. She was happy and had just done well in her exams and was looking forward to choosing a university," said the father, who also went on television channels in Britain to appeal for information.
"Emaan may be 17 but she is not street-wise and she's never travelled alone before. She's is not familiar with London and, to our knowledge, does not have any friends in the capital. It is vital that anyone with information about her whereabouts contact us as soon as possible", detective inspector Annette Clark, who was leading the investigation to trace the teenager, has said in her appeal.
