Police said that they had seized a total of 33 kgs of drugs so far in the past 12 days at the airport.
Federal Narcotics director Rashid Ibrahim said an Indian national was detained at the airport on Monday after he was found with 24.9 kgs of drugs which were kept in food containers.
On December 26, three Indian nationals flew in and were detained after federal narcotics officers found 13 packets of drugs weighing 8.4 kgs hidden in their luggage and underneath their clothing.
Also on December 30, a Thai woman was detained for transporting 1.8 kgs of cocaine hidden in hair oil bottles and inside deodorant sprays after she flew in from Dubai.
Rashid said all the five suspects, aged between 25 and 41, had been remanded under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said that last year, 171,649 people were arrested for various drug-related offences in the country.
In 2011, 167,001 people were detained.
He also said 2,872 foreigners were arrested last year compared to 1,162 people in 2011.
