Indians ready to shine at Duke of Edinburgh Cup Golf

Sumeet Nath and Inderjeet Singh of Delhi are set to leave for London, ready to withstand cold, wet playing conditions at next week's World finals of the annual global charity golf event, The Duke of Edinburgh Cup.
The first round of the 36-hole tournament will be played at the famed Moor Park Golf Club and the second round will be held at Mill Ride Golf Club in Windsor near London.
Nath and Singh, with 38 and 40 stableford points respectively, won the India qualifying tournament of the prestigious Oris Duke of Edinburgh Cup - India at new Unitech Golf Club in Noida last month with 90 contestants taking part over two days.

Architect Sumeet Nath said, "I was happy to learn that the DOE Cup is a mission to help youth across the world via several charities. I am delighted to be part of such a prestigious event and looking forward to a strong performance against the other countries at the World Finals at Windsor Castle."
Inderjeet Singh said, "It will be nice to compete against people from multiple nationalities. I am really excited to play on the English links style golf courses. It would be great if I would get acclimatised with the colder conditions as soon as possible and give my opponents a run for their money."

As a part of their itinerary, Nath and Singh will also get a chance to play a round of golf at the Royal Household Golf Club in the grounds of Windsor Castle, which is also a private golf course of the Royal family, after playing the world finals.
Subodh Kumar of Unitech Golf Club said, "We were very proud to have our new course be the first ever hosts of the India leg of the Duke of Edinburgh golf tournament. We wish all success to Sumeet and Inderjeet and hope they withstand the unfamiliar playing conditions and can put up a good show in London."

The India leg of the DOE Cup was organised by former Asian Games gold medallist Rishi Narain.
