The cub bearing a neck injury was found by a forest guard in a hilly area of Waghera village in Nashik's Igatpuri taluka on Sunday, Deputy Conservator of Forest Anita Patil said today.
Since the cub was weak and apparently abandoned by its mother, the forest guard took it to the veterinary dispensary for proper medical care.
As the feline could not be released in the wild owing to its weak condition, therefore, after seeking necessary permission from the Nagpur forest department, the cub was handed over to social worker Aniket Amte, to be taken care of and rehabilitated at his 'Lokbiradari Prakalp' in Hemalkasa village of Gadchiroli district, Patil said.
