Addressing the demonstrators, INLD Secretary General Ajay Singh Chautala alleged that the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government had wasted Rs 17,000 crore on establishing thermal power plants at Khedar, Jhajjar and Yamuna Nagar as none of these plants was working because of sub-standard machinery imported from China and installed by private companies.
Warning the Hooda government of a state-wide stir if the power situation did not improve in the next few days, Chautala said a government that could not arrange for adequate supply of water and power to its people had no right to continue in office.
