Integrated watershed project launched in MP's Betul district

An Integrated Watershed Project covering 38 villages of Betul district in Madhya Pradesh has been launched with an aim to enhance livelihoods of about 5,200 families.
The project, which is being supported by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd and an NGO Action for Social Advancement, would be executed in nearly five years period.
Marking the World Water Day celebrations, falling on March 22, the programme has been launched at Chuna Hujuri village in Shahpur block here.
"This is by far the biggest watershed project that we have supported in India," Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd's Associate vice president Kalyan Ranjan said.

Action for Social Advancement Director Ashis Mondal said, "On behalf of ASA and the local community, I assure the company that their support will go a very long way in improving the socio-economic conditions of people in these 38 villages.
