"The main objective of the meeting was to share terror related intelligence and inputs about various extremist outfits and their designs in view of forthcoming Independence Day celebrations. Senior officers of Delhi Police and their counterparts from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir attended the meeting," said a senior Delhi Police official.
Terror related intelligence and inputs about various extremist outputs and their designs in view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration were shared at the meeting, the official added.
The meeting, which was held here at the Delhi Police Headquarters under the chairmanship of Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi, also saw discussions on arrangements for maintaining the law and order during 'Kanwar Yatra" and 'Eid-Ul-Fitr' in the context of crowd and traffic management.
Speaking at the meeting, Bassi stressed on increasing police presence, intensive and co-ordinated checking at vulnerable points, tenant verification, guest house checking and sensitization of cyber cafe owners, second-hand car dealers, transporters, property dealers, cycle sellers, chemical dealers and STD/ISTD PCO booth owners in order to strengthen the counter terrorism measures.
