Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Kumar said, the gang used to hijack or snatch cars and bigger vehicles like tractor, vans and trucks and used to despatch the vehicles to different places in the country and Nepal.
The arrested have been identified as Shyam Sundar Thakur, Qasim alias Gulli, Alok Tiwary, Wajid Hussain, Niraj Patel, Ehrar Alam and Bhushan Gupta.
They are being interrogated.
"Two of the arrested persons are experts in disposing off stolen or looted vehicles. Other members will also be netted soon as the police have extracted information about them," the SP said.
