Sci-fi thriller "Interstellar" has won big at the 41st Annual Saturn Awards, taking six awards including best science fiction release.
The film saw off competition from "Edge of Tomorrow", "Godzilla" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" to win the honour, reported Ace Showbiz.
"Interstellar" also won best film writing with Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan as the scriptwriters.
Accepting the honour, Jonah Nolan explained briefly about the film to the audience, "'Interstellar' is the story of a man who goes on an arduous journey, comes back 100 years later to find that nobody remembers him or cares about what he was doing."
He added, "It's a pretty good metaphor for writing a studio film."
The outer-space movie won four other awards including best performance by a younger actor in a film (MacKenzie Foy), best film editing, best film production design and best film music.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" was also shining at the awards. Starring Chris Pratt, the movie took four awards including best comic book-to-film release. James Gunn, the director of the film, was called to the podium to accept the top honour for the film.
He read a message from Pratt instead of giving his own acceptance speech. "James Gunn is the future. He's a genius. I tried every day to do one thing: Give myself over to the creative vision of the man who is up there accepting this award on my behalf," he said.
Pratt was supposed to be at podium to receive best actor in a film for "Guardians of the Galaxy". Since he couldn't attend the event, he asked Gunn to accept the honour for him.
