"Tolerance is life. Intolerance is not acceptable. Every religion has spoken about tolerance. It is also written in the Vedas," Banerjee said at the 21st edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival here at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.
Amitabh Bachchan, while inaugurating the film festival, today recalled the contribution of Indian cinema in fostering social unity, communal amity and love at a time when "cultures are being questioned and prejudices against communities are dividing the world".
