An IPL betting racket was busted here with the arrest of two persons and recovery of over Rs 11 lakh in cash, a senior police official said today.

"We had received information that a betting racket, with links to Odisha and West Bengal, was active here. Based on the inputs we had, raids were conducted by a team led by Sub Divisional Officer, Sadar, Firoze Akthar and Sub Divisional Police Officer Akhilesh Kumar in Dharmganj locality last night," Superintendent of Police, Kishanganj, Kumar Ashish said.

He said during the nearly four-hour-long raids, one Ajit Singh was arrested and Rs 11.48 lakh in cash, 11 mobile phones, six laptops and 18 bank passbooks were recovered from his house.

"Besides, one Mukesh Duggad was also arrested from an adjoining street," he said.

A case has been registered against the two arrested accused, the SP said.

"A rate-card, denoting how much money was quoted for which IPL team and other related documents have also been recovered during the raids. Some more names have cropped up and they would be nabbed soon", he added.
