Isaiah Washington returns to 'Grey's Anatomy'

American actor Isaiah Washington is heading back to the TV series 'Grey's Anatomy' for an episode this May.
The 50-year-old actor, who made a highly publicised exit from the show in 2007, would be returning at the end of the season to help mark the upcoming departure of Sandra Oh's character of Dr Cristina Yang, reported Aceshowbiz.
Washington's character, Dr Preston Burke, had a romantic relationship with Cristina in the first three seasons.
"It's important to me that Cristina's journey unfolds exactly as it should," says series creator Shonda Rhimes.
Washington was dropped from the ABC medical drama series following an on-set argument between himself and co-star Patrick Dempsey.

He now has a role on The CW's new series 'The 100' which will debut on March 19.
