IT searches Nadiadwala's premises for alleged tax evasion

Income Tax department today conducted searches at the office, residence and other properties of film producer Sajid Nadiadwala for alleged tax evasion.
"We are conducting searches at the premises of film producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The searches are being conducted at his house, office and other premises," said an Income Tax official.
The searches are being conducted over suspicions of tax evasion, sources said, adding that some of his chartered accountants, too, were searched.
Nadiadwala is the producer, most recently, of the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer 'Tamasha', which released on November 27, but has not achieved major success at the box office, earning an approximate Rs 61.23 crore as on today.

Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, Nadiadwala or his PR were not available for comments.
