The Prime Minister was briefed on the issue by ITBP chief Subhas Goswami, who presented a cheque of Rs 2.91 crore drawn from the pledged one-day salary of its personnel, for relief and rehabilitation of flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The ITBP DG told the PM about the need of infrastructure development on the Indo-China border. The DG also informed the him about need of dedicated air support to the ITBP.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police guards 3,488 km icy frontier and it is also deployed to render a host of internal security duties in the country.
