Johnson & Johnson Group, which makes a broad range of health care products, is keen to explore investment opportunities in Telangana.
A delegation, led by Kathy Wengel, Worldwide Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC), met K T Rama Rao, Minister for Industries, here today and discussed investment avenues in the newly created State.
The team also visited the company's facility located at Kothur, Mahabubnagar district, around 100km from here.
Rao gave a detailed presentation to the visiting delegation highlighting investment opportunities in Telangana in healthcare, biotechnology and life sciences sectors, a State Government release said.
The Minister requested J&J to consider investing in the proposed Pharma City and establish a research and development lab here. He wanted the company to become an anchor investor in upcoming MedTech park, it said.
"She (Kathy Wengel) expressed the company's interest in the proposed MedTech park and asked her Indian team to explore investment opportunities (in the State)," it said.
Rao told the delegation the Government is giving high priority to investments in the manufacturing sector.
