The Jammu and Kashmir government has earmarked Rs 600 crore for electrification in uncovered habitations of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said today.
"Rs 600 crore has been earmarked for electrification in uncovered habitations," he said while responding to the issues of low voltage and power curtailment in the Valley.
He appealed the people to make judicious use of electricity and timely deposition of the electricity bills.
Reiterating the commitment of the government to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of the state, Singh said that synchronized efforts are being made to achieve the developmental goals.
Noting that the roads are vital for development, the Deputy Chief Minister said that a well knit plan has been envisaged to improve the road link in the state and thus connect all the far flung areas.
He said that the government is aware of the problems of the people of Kandi and hilly areas and all efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure.
Singh directed the executive agency to strictly adhere to the quality norms while executing the project and asked the tehsil and district administration to formulate multi-departmental convergence plan to accelerate the development of the area.
He also advocated for rolling out a calendar of awareness programmes on the flagship schemes of all the departments to educate the target beneficiaries.
