A case under the Information Technology Act, 2000 was registered against unidentified persons for creating a fake website 'www.Jkforest.Co.In', CB officials said.
The fake website was created after copying all the contents of the official website of the forest department 'www.Jkforest.Com' and it posted a fake appointment order under the link 'Recruitment-2013' thereby infringing the copyright of the Forest Department and cheating the public at large through fraudulent means, they said.
On September 26, senior forest officials had informed the crime branch of state police about the incident.
