J&K EC urges media to play balanced role

Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission today organised one-day workshop to sensitise mediapersons highlighting the election process and their role associated with it.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer Umang Narula, while participating in the workshop, appealed to the media to verify all sensitive issues before reporting in order to ensure conducive environment for smooth conduct of election.
"The media fraternity is appealed to work in close coordination with the Election Office and verify all sensitive issues before reporting in order to ensure conducive environment for smooth conduct of election," Narula said.
The main objective of the workshop was to inform the media about their day-to-day role for highlighting the events in view of Model Code of Conduct.
