"Verification conducted into the allegation of illegal appointments of class 4th employees made in Municipal Council Baramulla in the year 2010-11 by the then Executive Officer Ghulam Mohammad Lone has revealed that the accused has abused his official position," a State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) spokesman said.
The accused, in league with the beneficiaries, made 72 illegal appointments, he said.
Hailing from Batwina village of Ganderbal, Lone made the backdoor appointments in Baramulla Municipal Council without any competence, without following set procedure and in gross violation of framed rules and regulations, the spokesman said.
