"Chief Minister says he is tied to the responsibility of his chair. If the chief minister is helpless in his efforts to get AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) removed from Jammu and Kashmir, he should resign," Baig said during his discussion on his adjournment motion over Baramulla firing in Assembly today.
He also submitted his "conditional" resignation to the Speaker, saying that the latter must accept it only when the chief minister quits his chair on the issue.
Omar yesterday made an emotional speech in the state Assembly over the killing of youth in Baramulla firing incident and said he was "tied" with the responsibility of chair and was feeling "helpless".
Tahir Latief Sofi(25) was killed and four were injured in firing allegedly by security forces during protests in north Kashmir's Baramulla town yesterday.
