"PRIs are real ground level democratic institutions responsible for local area development and government is keen to further strengthen them," state minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma said while addressing a gathering of Sarpanches and Panches here.
Sharma said that the state government has issued instructions to all departments to ensure active involvement of the elected representatives in formulation of development plans.
He also directed SDM, Akhnoor to convene monthly meeting of all sectoral officers, Sarpanches and Panches to ensure close coordination between administration and PRIs for achieving common objectives.
