"The department checking squads have made 29131 inspections across the division to check illegal connection and power pilferage and imposed a fine of Rs 711.807 lakhs against which Rs 506.412 lacs have been recovered from the violators till November last year", a spokesman of Power Development department said today.
The electricity charges of Rs 10200.298 lakhs were recovered from various government departments till October 2012, he said.
As many as 45965 applications were received for revision of load against which 110104.196 KWs load was added in the division.
An amount of Rs 1907.72 lacs is needed for complete metering in the 11 towns of Jammu division and till date 163454 electric meters have been installed, he added.
