J&K guv orders removal of red beacons, sirens from vehicles

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today ordered removal of red beacons and sirens from all Raj Bhavan vehicles in Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar.
Consequent to the Government of India's decision in the matter, the Governor directed that red beacons and sirens on all Raj Bhavan vehicles at Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar should be removed forthwith.
Principal Secretary to the Governor disclosed this had been done in respect of all Raj Bhavan vehicles even though the Governor himself had never used red beacons or sirens ever since he assumed charge in the state.
