"Income Tax Department has created history by collecting record Rs 1,058 crore tax for the recently concluded 2013-2014 financial year," Commissioner, Income Tax, Jammu and Kashmir, A K Thatai told reporters here today.
He said that ITD has not only achieved the target fixed by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) at Rs 880.53 crore but also exceeded the collections by a convincing amount of 177.47 crore.
Congratulating his officers and officials over the historic tax collection, he said active support of his team and subordinate staff helped in achieving this goal.
