The Committee, which reviewed the reports submitted by the concerned department, took a serious view of non-compliance of the directions of the committee with regard to furnishing of details of the records regarding the functioning of JAKFED, the FIR report and action taken report thereafter and completed volumes of the Pillai Committee report.
Committee issued further directions to provide the records and information within the notified time.
The State Legislative Council panel set up to probe into the alleged embezzlement of funds in Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (JAKFED) met today under the chairmanship of Khalid Najib Suharwardy.
On April 22, the Committee had directed Administrative Secretary, Cooperative Department to produce all the records relevant to the matter on or before April 24, 2013.
The Chairman JKLC Amrit Malhotra had constituted a House Committee on April 16 to look into alleged bungling and embezzlement of public money worth crores of rupees in JAKFED from 1987 onwards including cases culminating in registration of case FIR 3/95 by Vigilance Organisation.
