A minor girl was rescued from Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district on Friday, 48 hours after she was allegedly abducted by a man, police said.
The accused, identified as Tariq Hussain, a resident of Rajouri district's Broh-Kalakote, has been arrested, they said.
On December 11, a complaint was lodged by the victim's grandfather that the girl had gone to her maternal uncle's house in Rajouri's Sonchal and she went missing while returning home, Senior Superintendent of Police Yougal Man said.
A case was registered and an investigation launched. The girl was rescued from Samba's Bari Brahmana area after strenuous efforts, he said.
It was found that Hussain was involved in the crime, the SSP said.
