J-K's IAS officer gets state award by EC

IAS officer and District Development Commissioner (DDC) Udhampur Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has been conferred with the state award for outstanding contribution in the field of electoral participation during Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Choudhary showcased best electoral practices in the Global Electoral Exhibition and Matdata Mahotsav in New Delhi organised by Election Commission of India (ECI), an official spokesperson said.
The award was presented by state government on occasion of sixth National Voters' Day today.
He has also received the award for best district election officer (DEO) for his contribution in various fields of electoral enrolment, participation and awareness, the spokesperson said.

He was DEO Kathua for the Assembly elections and DEO Reasi during Lok Sabha elections which registered record enrolment and participation.
