"On a secret enquiry conducted by the State Vigilance Commission, it was established that database system of Gulmarg Gondola Project provided by 'Afford Infocom Pvt Ltd' had been compromised to obtain fake tickets on Net, by bypassing the payment Gateway of the project," an SVC spokesman said.
During the enquiry, it was found that the Database Administrator of the firm, Arif Rasool Bhat of Khawaja Bagh Baramulla, in connivance with his associates manipulated the data to facilitate illegal benefit to himself and few travel agencies, he said.
The fake tickets were manipulated to pass the verification check point at the Base Camp to avoid any suspicion, he said.
The second highest rope-way system in the world, Gulmarg Gondola project is managed by Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC).
A case has been registered in Police Station Sadder Srinagar in the incident, the spokesman added.
