J'khand govt envites dignitaries to visit Shravani Mela at

Jharkhand government has extended invitation to dignitaries to visit the month-long 'Shravani Mela' beginning tomorrow at Deoghar.

"We have invited the president, the prime minister, governors and chief ministers of all states and all central ministers to visit Deoghar during the month-long Shravani Mela, a world famous fair," Chief Minister Raghubar Das said here today.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the devotees. "The government is continuously making efforts to improve the pilgrim centre which is famous for being one of the 12 'Jyotir Lings' in the country," he said.

"Our plan is to make a tourism circuit Maluti temples - Basukinath Temple in Dumka and then completing it in Deoghar," Das said adding efforts are on bring it at par with international standard tourist spots.

Maluti temples are a group of 72 terracotta temples built between 17th to 19th century and located in the Maluti village near Shikaripara in Dumka district and the Basukinath temple is a famous Shiva temple in the state. The famous Baidyanath temple is located at Deogarh.

Free bus service would be made available for the handicapped, women, elderly persons and the poor from Jasidih station to Deoghar and from Deoghar to Basukinath temple, he added.

A mobile app 'Baba Dham' has been made for sharing information, he added.
